Candle Makers Notes: |
The 10 oz Cali Jar with a pink translucent finish. This dark shaded finish brings a bit elegance to the Cali Jar style. It may hide some imperfections in the waxes adhesion if present, but the glass is still pretty translucent. It's important to monitor heat retention as the candle burns lower in the vessel and check for even bottom burn profile to ensure optimal burning experience for customers or personal use. Sacrificing the first burn slightly can help ensure adequate lower-burn performance, while still allowing for good melt pool formation - leaving about 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch around the sides is recommended. By four to six hours into burning time, a full melt pool should form and continue throughout rest of candle life; this small sacrifice ensures pleasant entirety of burn cycle. While popularly used due its common size range among containers, wicking at three inches poses some difficulties since it's too large yet not quite suitable enough often times for double-wicking with smaller cooler-burning wicks that may be more appropriate with shorter glasses that don't retain much heat but are less commonly found than larger ones such as this ten-ounce Cali Jar which retains warmth well; thus single-wick setups are recommended. |
