Description

 Description  Properties

TW-30 is an all natural tart wax made specifically for wax tarts and melts to be used in burners or melters. It's hard all natural soy consistency makes it ideal for tart molds and other molds. TW-30 can hold up to 18% fragrance allowing your wax melts to not only diffuse fragrance longer, but to also have stronger aromatic potency. TW-30 pillar wax and natural soy properties also make it ideal for candle decor and for use in making doodads or decorative trinkets for your custom crafted candles. This wax provides enough hardness and shrink to release from most simplified molds. TW-30 tart wax is also ideal for whipping as the natural soy look comes close to the look and texture of cake and desert frosting. Whip TW-30 soy wax and let cool to put through a desert piping bag to create cake, cupcake, and desert like decorations.

 Candle Makers Notes:

TW-30 tart wax is special in that it is made from soy, it is 100% natural, and can hold up to 18% fragrance when used for wax melt purposes in clamshell tart molds. Due note for free standing pillar applications, trinkets, doodads, cake frosting or other decor, we recommend 8% for the max fragrance load. It has a hard white soy consistency. Best practices would be to carefully hit the center of the slab with a hammer. This will make the wax turn to smaller brittles and chunks which are much easier to load into your melter or tank. This is much easier than cutting the slab due to the hard soy consistency. We recommend 160F for the pour temperature only because hotter temperatures may put you at risk of melting your plastic clamshell molds when pouring. TW-30 being all soy is prone to frosting. Pouring at hotter temperatures when possible will improve the final look of the product because the wax benefits from a longer set up time. If using this wax for pillar applications with silicone, tin, or aluminum we recommend to pour at 190F to further avoid frosting and to help keep a more even aesthetically pleasing look if your molds are compatible with hotter pour temperatures. Most pillar candle molds should be as long as they are not made of plastic. TW-30 is excellent at holding fragrance while also being heat resistant to resist fragrance sweating considering its high load potential. It is not required to fragrance up to 18%, as this purely optional if you wish to have more potent and longer lasting wax melts. Most users will fragrance at 12-15% (2 - 2.5 ounces) of fragrance per pound of wax. When using this wax in mold purposes whether you are creating pillar candles or decorative objects, we recommend Heavy Duty Silicone spray as this will aid in the mold release as well as create a protective barrier for your mold that should help protect your mold from wear. TW-30 is an incredibly stable burning wax and is compatible with most candle wicks. We find the CD series is the easiest to use as this series has one of the largest sizing options so you can really dial in that wick for the diameter of your candle creation. Due to TW-30's stable burning properties it is also used quite often as an additive for container candles. When using TW-30 to create frosting or cake decorations it is important to be very mindful of the waxes temperature. Allow the wax to cool in your pouring pitcher or crafting compatible mixing container while simultaneously whipping it with a mixing instrument like a sturdy whisk. Keep disturbing the wax by mixing it to keep it in a gelatinous form. At around 135-125F the wax should have gel and muddy like consistency. Quickly load this wax into your piping back (disposable piping bags are best) and squeeze through to quickly create your frosting effects before the wax fully hardens. Once you have used all the wax possible and remnants remain (remnants will almost always remain), remelt this wax back down to start the process all over again. You may remelt this wax several times before loss of quality, which usually visually presents itself as the wax turning more yellow or brown.

    Amazing!

    Unknown on Dec 23rd 2020

I just started selling wax melts made of this wax and it has worked very well for me so far! My first customer said that they bought from a couple of different makers and mine were stronger and longer lasting than the others. I haven't tried making wax melts from other waxes but that reaffirmed to me that I should stick to TW-30. I use a 12-15% fragrance load depending on the fragrance oil. Even though it's a bit difficult to break apart (I use a hammer...), I actually love how hard the wax is since I don't need to worry about my wax melts crumbling in transit.
