Our Cocoa Butter Lotion is supplied fragrance-free and can be customized using compatible, skin-safe fragrance oils. We suggest starting with a fragrance concentration of 0–2% by weight. Fragrance oils vary in composition and compatibility. Always consult the fragrance oil's current IFRA certificate for the appropriate application category (typically Category 5A for body lotions) and ensure the concentration does not exceed the permitted maximum. When adding fragrance, incorporate it gradually into the lotion using gentle, thorough mixing until evenly dispersed. Avoid excessive agitation, which may introduce air into the finished product. Adding fragrance oils or other ingredients can affect the lotion's viscosity, appearance, stability, preservation, and overall performance. Not all fragrance oils will be compatible with this lotion base. Small-batch compatibility and stability testing is strongly recommended before larger production runs. Store the lotion in a clean, tightly sealed container in a cool, dry environment away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Use clean, suitable cosmetic-grade equipment and packaging to help minimize contamination during handling and customization. This lotion is supplied as a ready-to-use base. Any modifications, including the addition of fragrance oils, colorants, or other ingredients, create a customized formulation that must be independently evaluated for safety, stability, and regulatory compliance. The crafter or finished-product manufacturer is solely responsible for determining appropriate ingredient declarations, verifying ingredient concentrations and identities, conducting necessary finished-product testing, and ensuring proper labeling in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the locations where the product is manufactured, marketed, or sold. Ingredient information may be obtained from the applicable product documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and manufacturer-supplied formulation information. SDS ingredient disclosures may not represent a complete cosmetic ingredient declaration or provide sufficient information to establish the required finished-product ingredient order.
