Description

 Description  Properties

Coconut 83 is a natural coconut container blend that's primarily made from coconut and fortified with natural quality ingredients. Its soft, cream texture and low shrink profile make it easy to work with as the wax adheres well to its container which also allows for a solid, clean finish when working with clear glass. This wax is resistant to frosting and receives dye well when adding color to your wax. It has a great hot throw and its cooler burn profile and cream texture makes it ideal for aromatic cold throws.

 Candle Makers Notes:

Coconut 83 is a natural wax with excellent adhesion and setup properties. Its creamy texture and low shrink profile make it perfect for working with clear glass, as there's minimal shrinkage which allows the wax to stick better to the container sides. The top surface also tends to be more flat after curing, though some heat gun touch-ups may still be necessary. Coconut 83 has forgiving pour temperature requirements due to its consistency, although optimal adherence occurs at hotter pouring temperatures (190F). Additionally, this blend offers great cold throw fragrance performance thanks to its creamy texture. However, because of its low heat resistance properties in high-temperature environments or outdoor markets during summer conditions can cause fragrance oil sweating or beading. Certain wicks may not burn stably due to high levels of coconut and oil; we recommend using the CD wick series for a more cool, stable, and clean burn. Adding Beeswax helps absorb excess oils while adding stability in higher temperature situations or complex-shaped containers; common loads range between 1-5%. Vybar is an alternative if you want vegan-friendly products that aid in enhancing scent throws. Stearic Acid works well too if you require both a natural and vegan option where most common loads are typically within the range of 5-10%.

    Inconsistency

    JET on Apr 9th 2024

I have been buying this wax for years. Shipping always fast and seamless ordering. However, I do feel there are inconsistencies in the wax. This makes it extremely difficult when running a business. It is impossible for me to retest all my candles with every new box of candle wax I order. On my last order, my candles were behaving horribly with tunneling, dips etc. everything else was the same including wicks and fragrance oils. California Candle Supply Response: Hello, we are sorry to hear your having issues with the Coconut 83 wax. Please note we test each batch for quality and have not been able to replicate what you are experiencing. Please reach out to us directly so we may be of further assistance. Thank you

    Coconut83 is great

carissa crismon on Apr 8th 2024

I previously used BW917 but was looking for a Coconut wax alternative closer in proximity to help with shipping costs. Coconut83 is a great alternative. I got both Coco Bright 11 and this wax to test both and determine which I like better. But I am having a hard time deciding between the two! This one is pretty, (though not as bright as cocobright11) - adhere's to glass nicely, had smooth tops and it throws well. BW917 has a "soy" undertone that sometimes shows itself in certain scents (it doesn't care for my blueberry so I use it in paraffin only), but I don't notice that so much with Coconut83. However, it does seem to magnify "greens" to my nose. I poured testers in both CocoBright11 and Coconut83 using a scent that I know throws well for me in other waxes (f.o. load dropped to 4%) and with just an over night cure, it throws REALLY well. CocoBright11 is stronger to my nose. If I have a scale of 1-3, 3 being best, I give CocoBright11 a 3 and Coconut83 a 2.5... they are really close.
