Recommended Wicks: CD Series
Recommendations for wicks based on the type of wax used. Fragrance loads and fragrance types may change wick recommendations. Do factor in the jar height as candles may retain more heat causing the candle burn hotter than normal as it burns deeper in a given vessel. Candle Makers Notes: |
CCS #12 is a true one pour blend that is easy to work with, delivering good adhesion and flat candle tops without needing heat gunning. However, due to its oily consistency and minimal shrinkage properties, it may not be very heat resistant and can sweat in warmer climates or direct sunlight much like Coconut 83. Beeswax has proven effective in helping with its heat retention while Vybar can be used for those who prefer vegan options. When using additives such as these, we recommend keeping loads between 1-5% to avoid worsening the blends' adhesion properties. The CD series wicks are stable burning wicks recommended when working with CCS #12's oily consistency since performance wicks like ECO have a more volatile burn profile." |

Great HT and CT
I love this wax. Easy to work with, smooth tops. I use 12% FO. The only downside is the wax leaves wet spots. I've tried everything including warming up my jars but there are still wet spots. I clean them up as much as possible with my heat gun but its time consuming and doesn't take them all away.

Perfect candle!
I usually work with the C-6 wax, but thought I’d give this a try, based on the reviews. It lived up to its reputation! Great jar adhesion, smooth, almost flawless tops, and easy to clean the pour pitcher. Hoping the hot throw is great too! Just made my candles yesterday, so I have yet to burn one. But, so far, I’m very pleased! I’m using a CD-8 wick with an 8 oz jar, with a diameter of 3in. I actually double wicked, because I could’ve upped it to a CD12, I think. Fragrance load is 8%. Pouring temp was 160 degrees. I add FO at 170. Usually, all of the above provides a good hot throw! I can update again!

Never looking back...
I'm still new to the candle game and started with garbage-wax from Amazon. This is superior in every way. If you manage to pour this at 135-degrees - perfection. I hardly had to use the heat gun to smooth the top surfaces. I'll be buying this exclusively for the foresable future.

Love it
I tested soy 464 and paraffin wax before I tried this one from CCS. I absolutely love this wax. It takes color and fragrance well and it always cures with a smooth top. I am impressed.
